Where Education Plus Works:
At the moment we work in 3 Abuja based IDP camps and settlements:

Wassa IDP Community
Situated in Wassa area of Abuja this is the largest camp/ settlement in Abuja with are large number of IDPs living in the host community of Wassa.
​
Majority of the children in the camp attend low income community schools and government schools located in Wassa.
​
In September 2021 we set up and are now running an Early Years Centre for 3 to 7 year olds in the community for both children from the IDP community and children from the host community.
We have over 60 children attending the centre at moment.
From September subject to funding 2022 we want to increase the number to 100 children.

Presently we are:

Paying salaries of the 10 Early Years Workers and assistants of whom 9 are women.
​

Improving the classrooms and providing low cost learn resources for the children and teachers.
​

Providing on going Continuous Professional Development training for the staff

Malaysian Gardens IDP Settlement
Situated in Apo area of Abuja since early 2022 we have been working in this camp with over 100children between the ages of 3 to 7.

Presently we are:

Paying for 4 Early Years staff, with the view in September 2022 to increase the staffing levels to 6

Develop their Early Years provision

Providing essential teaching resources

Providing Continous Professional Development training for the staff

Yimitu IDP Community
Situated in near Waru town this small community has a IDP settlement that has become part of the community.
​
While the community has a few primary education options there is no Early Years provision.
​

Presently we are involved in:

Payment of salaries of 2 early years workers and 2 early years assistants.

Furniture construction

- Provision of reading books and other early years learning resources
